Jack Miller Contractors was selected by REMODELING magazine to join the REMODELING Big50. Each year since 1986, the REMODELING Big50 inducts 50 remodeling companies that have set exceptionally high standards for professionalism and integrity through exemplary business practices, craftsmanship and impact in their community or the industry at large. Big50 remodelers run successful, often growing, companies of various sizes that have taken the lead in raising industry standards.

“To get a sense of how unique this status is, consider there are roughly 98,000 remodeling firms in America with paid staff,” noted Craig Webb, REMODELING’s editor-in-chief. “Since 1986, we have selected only about 1,600 firms. That’s just 1.6 percent of all the remodeling businesses in the country today.”

“There’s no single strategy here and no lack of competitors for their services,” REMODELING’s introduction to the list declares: “What Big50 firms share is a culture that celebrates employees and customer service above all.”

Our team is thrilled to be included in this select group of remodelers. Check out this link for more information.

Jack Miller on the Tim Faller Show

We're thrilled to share a recent two-part podcast featuring Jack Miller on The Tim Faller show with Remodelers Advantage Inc. A staple in commercial construction -- now utilized in the residential world -- Pull Planning for Smooth Production can change the way residential remodeling contractors schedule projects. Jack Miller talks about how this tool has been successful for his team, and how other companies can eliminate huge costs and high stress from scheduling delays by collaboratively planning each project through the next milestone with the people who are doing the work onsite. Instead of scheduling from start dates, the focus is centered around end dates. Pull planning is an outgrowth of the pillars of lean building -- constant improvement and respect for the individual.

Testimonials

JMC built us a beautiful home, attentive to every detail and focused on delivering not just beauty but also state-of-the-art efficiency and durability. Jack has built a great team, in our case led expertly on-site by Paul Barrett. Everyone on the project, including high-quality sub-contractors, was thoughtful, quality-focused, patient, professional, responsive to our needs and just a true pleasure to work with. Our house is everything we hoped for and more, thanks to Jack, Paul and the rest of the team.”

— Libbie P., Williamstown MA

“I walk through the house daily just reveling in the attention and skill that has been paid to it and it brings me to my knees… You were the reference I got from four random folks when I asked for the ‘best contractor in town.”

— Emily W., Williamstown, MA

“You guys did a great job on the whole house! Count on us any time for a reference.”

— Richard S., Stamford, VT

“We are thrilled with the final project, and have nothing but praise for you and everyone working for you, especially Paul.”

— Maureen D., Williamstown, MA

“Jack Miller and his team renovated our 1960 TechBuilt home with great attention to the minimalist contemporary details we were looking for. They were responsive, clever problem solvers with a strong eye on the health of the building. We are very happy with the look and feel of the work after 18 months AND really pleased with the insulation, drainage and building science upgrades that Jack helped engineer. Great job all around.”

-- Larry S., Williamstown, Mid-century project

“Jack Miller runs a very well organized operation. His crews are skilled, and he has experienced people who are very good at solving the difficult problems that we architects pose for them. All the projects we have done with Jack have ended with happy clients and architects.”

Andrus Burr, Burr and McCallum Architects, Williamstown, MA

"In my experience working with Jack Miller, representing his properties as well as Jack working with my clients on renovation concepts or new construction inquiries with our listings, Jack has always been extremely professional, knowledgeable and more than willing to take care of our clients' needs.”
